近日，中国科学院近代物理研究所等利用日本稀少放射性核素储存环（Rare-RI Ring，R3），测量了短寿命丰中子核素钯-123的质量，并探究了新的质量结果对快中子俘获过程（R-过程）元素丰度的影响，这是目前基于R3储存环得到的第一个重要的物理成果。4月15日，相关研究成果发表在Physical Review Letters上。
