暨南大学中国语言文学系创办于1927年，有着悠久的历史和优秀传统。初名为中国语文学系，自三十年代以来，陈钟凡、李达、夏丏尊、曹聚仁、梁实秋、叶公超、郑振铎、汪静之、洪深、夏衍、张君励、顾仲彝、刘大杰、沈从文、郭绍虞、吴文祺、钱钟书、张世禄、徐中舒、萧殷等一批国内外著名学者都曾在该系任教。中文系现有10个教研室。其中，汉语言文学专业有：现代汉语教研室、古代汉语教研室、文艺学教研室、中国古代文学教研室...
