关节软骨缺损是最常见的骨科疾病之一，可引起关节功能障碍、严重疼痛和残疾，给患者个人和社会带来沉重的经济负担。不幸的是，由于软骨无神经无血管的特性，软骨缺乏自愈能力，因此关节软骨的再生仍然是一个相当大的挑战。组织工程通过理想的种子细胞、合适的生物材料和生物活性分子的结合，被认为是一种很有前途的软骨修复方法。
近日，北京友谊医院骨科中心唐海教授团队与北京邦塞科技有限公司合作在Bioactive Materials发表题为“Translation of a spinal bone cement product from bench to bedside”的研究论文。
近十几年来国内外研究发现，单纯细胞移植很难实现干细胞在脊髓复杂损伤微环境中定向分化为功能细胞。然而，组织工程策略优势在于可以根据脊髓修复的具体需求，设计支架材料、种子细胞和生物活性因子的最优组合，以应对如何重塑神经再生微环境和修复脊髓神经环路的关键科学问题。
