东亚腹链蛇属Hebius为一类半水栖的中小型蛇类，广泛分布于东亚、东南亚及南亚地区。该属多样性丰富，已知50种。2023年来，陆续有盐边腹链蛇H. yanbianensis、桑植腹链蛇H. sangzhiensis、维西腹链蛇H. weixiensis、右江腹链蛇H. youjiangensis等新种被发现，这表明对东亚腹链蛇这一属的物种多样性调查研究尚需持续推进。
